A herringbone dress
Smart dungarees
Never before have I seen dungarees worn in this way! Flawless hair, make up and accessorising, the mix of dark hued denim and navy blue (always classic), the smart bag – it all screams BCBG – but the black blazer, quirky spike heels and what could be a band t-shirt add an air of relaxed edginess. The model is Julia Shutenko, and you can find her blog here.
Camels
Orange and black
Good use of different textures to dramatic effect. The lovely Naomi Rowland from Two Shoes One Pair (she’s much friendlier than she looks here).
Just right
Spots and stripes
For some reason this lady (and her friend) made me think of the Wizard of Oz… A cool mix of spots and stripes!
Femininity
Tartan mix
If there’s one thing that LFW always reminds me, it’s that rules are there to be broken, and that the best / most interesting outfits generally break rules. A bit like people maybe. You wouldn’t think that three lots of tartan / plaid in one outfit would work. But it totally does. One ‘rule’ this girl is following however is to mix something with more volume (her top half) with something more fitted (her slim legged trousers). An easy example of how this rule functions – what do you team wide legged trousers with? More often than not, a fitted top. It just works.
